Ethical Practices in Research: IRB Workshop for 4th Year UG Students
The ethics review process is an integral part of the university's research culture, as it ensures the integrity of research subjects and ethical practices in research.
To familiarize you with the IRB guidelines and application submission process, Ashoka’s Institutional Review Board (IRB) core committee will conduct a workshop for the 4th year undergraduate students working with human subjects for their thesis. The ethics workshop is scheduled for 22 September from 1.30-2.30 pm. This workshop will cover:
- Introduction to the IRB
- IRB guidelines
- Requirements for IRB approval
- Review and approval process
- Review and approval timeline
- HSR training (CITI)
- Portal demonstration
- IRB office hours and submission guidance
The workshop will be conducted on campus.

In accordance with the university’s ethics protocol (mandated in academic year 2023-2024), all 4th-year undergraduate students in the Humanities and Social Sciences working with human subjects are required to submit their research applications for ethics review to Ashoka’s IRB.
