All researchers at Ashoka, who are working on projects involving human subjects, must complete an ethics certification course before applying for IRB approval.
The only exception to this rule are undergraduates working on their own projects where the contents of the work will be confined to the Ashoka domain, and where the research topic is not particularly sensitive and where the research population is not particularly vulnerable. (See Frequently Asked Questions>Ethics Training)
Ashoka University subscribes to online ethics certification courses offered by the CITI Program .
To access the courses, register on the CITI website by using your Ashoka email ID. Registration includes selecting ethics-related topics most relevant to you. Then CITI will offer you a menu of courses from which you can select the one that best suits your needs. For instance, completing the course titled ‘Social and Behavioral Responsible Conduct of Research’ will meet the ethics training requirement for most researchers.
